What type of dancing do you teach?

Our group classes focus on salsa (on 1 and 2) and bachata.

For private lessons we offer classic latin dancing salsa (on 1 or 2), bachata (traditional or sensual), merengue, and cha cha as well as traditional Costa Rican dancing bolero and swing criollo. (Click on the links to see different examples of those styles of dancing.)

Should I do private or group classes?

Choosing between private or group classes depends on your goals and what you are interested in. Many students who want to learn as much as possible do a combination of both.

Private lessons:

• Are at the time of your convenience
• Focus on any style you are interested in
• Are a great way to learn and advance your dancing faster (a good option for people visiting a short time)
• For beginners they can help gain confidence if you want to feel prepared before your first group class
• For more advanced dancers they can help you drill techniques and take your dancing to the next level
• You can focus on technique, posture, and your trouble areas
• Great for couples who want to dance together

Group classes:

• A great way to meet other people and connect with other dancers
• Good for both beginners and more advance dancers
• More economic option for people who are looking to take a lot of classes
• A good opportunity to practice your Spanish with locals
• Learn both techniques and dancer combinations

How do I pay?

You can pay in US dollars, Costa Rican colones or through Venmo or with SinPe Móvil.

Do I need to bring a partner?

No! Many students come alone or with friends, no partner is needed. We rotate partners during the class to so you can get the best experience dancing with others.
